"This youngster from Canada is one of the top pitching prospects in the Yankee organization and came into his own last year. He had a banner season at Kinston, leading the Class A Carolina League in strikeouts (192) and ERA (1.53). A side-arming fastball is his best pitch.
He was discovered by Eddie Taylor, the Yankee scout who also signed Mel Stottlemyre and Steve Kline out of the Washington Winterlands."
