1973 Profile: Otto Velez

"This youngster has shown hitting ability ever since joining the Yankee organization - Velez has a quick, aggressive bat and loves to hit.
He started poorly at West Haven last year, being unaccustomed to the cold climate. A native of Puerto Rico, he was playing in the north for the first time in his short career. He came on at the end, however, and displayed some power as he hit 13 home runs and knocked in 68 runs to help the club to the Eastern League championship.
He's rated a definite prospect who should be heard from in the future."
