"An accomplished eater and pitcher, Reuschel has been a mainstay of the Cubs' rotation since 1972. As usual, he was the staff leader in most areas in 1980. He had a sub-par season until a 5-0, 2.08 August brought his figures to respectability. He was 7-0 in August of '79.
Reuschel has won in double figures every season in the bigs, including 10-8 in half a year as a rookie in '72. He earned his promotion that year by going 9-2, 1.33 at Wichita.
Born in Quincy, Illinois, he combined with his brother Paul to blank the Dodgers in 1975. Rick was a 20-game winner and a National League All-Star in '77. He was 10-0 and 1.29 his final year at Western Illinois U.
He owns a farm in Wisconsin."
